17-member fleet set for Long Distance Comet Race

A bumper fleet has been confirmed for this year’s edition of the Edward Cross Long Distance Comet Race, with 17 boats slated to take to St George’s Harbour for the start.

All three of Bermuda’s clubs that host the Comet Class are represented, including East End Mini Yacht Club, West End Sailboat Club and Mid-Atlantic Boat Club.

Benn Smith enters as the man to beat, having won the event three of the last four years; however, there is no shortage of capable challengers, including past winners Rudy Bailey, Dale Brangman, Gladwin Lambert and current club series leader Maxwell Curtis.

TNN will be streaming the race live from start to finish.
