One Sided Game at St. George’s Cricket Club Cup Match Trials

Spectators are using this last weekend before annual classic to put the final touches on their camps while they are entertained out in the middle by the Cup Match hopefuls seeking to impress the selectors down at the east end.

It’s so far proven to be a batter’s pitch with the Vice President’s eleven on 222 for nine, with Allan Douglas Jr. amassing a ton. Young Luke Horan, for the President’s XI has so far taken three catches. One of them, a spectacular diving effort to send Rodney “Picnic” Trott back to the pavilion.

With the absence of George O’brien, Ojay Pitcher and Jordan Burgess, the feeling is there are only three places to fill in the Chellengers’ squad this year. Chairman Jelani Carlington and the rest of the selection panel clearly have their work cut out for them. President’s XI are 21 for 7 wickets.
